The Julianna began as a labor of love between Julie Poland and her father, Dr. James Poland. Julie, a budding artist, worked alongside her dad to bring a dramatic Victorian house illustration by Sue Wall to life. Tragically, Julie passed away at the age of 26 before she could finish the house. Determined to honor their daughter’s dream, Dr. Poland and his wife, Jerry Poland, commissioned Vicky Bickel to finish the intricate work Julie had begun.
